The primary goal of American Grooming Academy is to develop in our students the highest possible degree of technical and professional competence in the pet grooming industry.

American Grooming Academy on site campus came into inception 2009. Since then, has had the opportunity to train and work with many graduates who have become successful in the pet industry job market as bathers, grooming assistants, pet stylist, mobile groomers, management and becoming business owners of their own. American Grooming Academy is excited to now offer its proven programs and Instructors with over 40 years of real-world experience thru BOTH its Onsite Campus and NOW ALSO OFFERED American Grooming Academy Learning Online Programs.

American Grooming Services is an upscale full-service grooming salon and mobile grooming service where the pet community will have the option of selecting a professional pet stylist or pet stylist student to complete their pets grooming service from either the salon or at the convenience of their home with mobile grooming.

Our grooming salon is a spacious upscale full service salon and was designed to create a positive experience for our customers, their pets in our care and the grooming students who attend our Grooming Academy. The Salon has been equipped with the latest grooming equipment in the industry, where creating a safe and clean environment are our priority.

The Academy is equipped with Stainless steel tubes in the bathing area, complete with large dog ramp and comfort mats for pets and students.

Seminar Room and Library Area

The Seminar room is available to grooming students during regular school hours. The Library is located within the school’s seminar room, and consists of various books and videos relating to the pet grooming industry. In this large space, we also hold seminars and host guest speakers.

Angela Clark, President, ICMC,CMCG , MCGC

Leading a 30+ year career involving pets and their people Angela Clark is a leader in the pet industry. Starting at a modest privet pet grooming shop as a bather brusher, it was through dedication, passion, training, an obtaining a BA in business administration from Sacramento state University that Angela became the owner and operator of a successful Pet Grooming Salon and Retail Store. Angela also motivated and managed a multi million dollar national company holding positions such as, Salon Pet Stylist, Salon Manager, Grooming Training Center manager, Regional Pet Services Manager and National Mobile Service Manager. Since opening the doors of American Grooming Academy Angela has become a Certified Master Groomer through International Professional Pet Groomers association, an IPG Practical Certifier, A Professional Cat Groomers Association of America Certified Feline Stylist and Practical Certifier. She is also Certified for Pet CPR through Pet Tech. Angelas career is long and she has many advantages but the most important is her love for pets. An avid animal lover and especially the AGA mascot Poodle breed, Angela wants everyone who has a dream of working with pets to be able to make that dream reality!

Kabrina Marchant Is a Certified Master Instructor through Canine Approved Groomers. A Pet stylist Career 20 years in the making Kabrina “Kat” Marchant has worked for a national retailer holding positions of Pet Groomer, Pet Grooming Salon Manager, and Grooming Salon trainer. Also holding a District Salon Training Manager for 5 years. Kat is a Certified Master Groomer through International Professional Pet Groomers Association, A Certified Feline Groomer. Kat also holds a Master's Degree from Cal Poly Pomona and two bachelor's degrees. A successful business owner and rescue advocate, Kats 20 plus year career brings knowledge and experience in all things regarding the art of pet styling, writing curriculum, and owning a business. On-Line Theory

American Grooming Academy has developed its own theory curriculum for each program covering many related topics. The curriculum was created to provided students the knowledge and know how to build confidence toward achieving their goals and success.

On-Line Videos

AMERICAN GROOMING ACADEMY HAS ALSO DEVELOPED video lectures on the many theory curriculum topic, demonstration videos, demonstrating the practical techniques you will be learning for your grooming skills. All of the video lectures and demonstration videos were created and designed to provide students with additional resource to ad in their learn process.

Upload PRACTICAL TECHNICAL EVALUATIONS

(Upload pictures and videos) Each program has practical assignments for you to complete. These assignments are a way for you to strengthen your grooming technical skills. These assignments will be for you and your Instructors to review and grade.

On-Line Testing

Each program includes an online test and assessments for you to measure what you have learned. All tests online are open book and can be retaken.

Hands-On Training

Instruction, guidance and support from instructors! At American Grooming Academy students will have the opportunity to work with and learn on a wide variety of AKC pure breeds, mix breeds and designer breeds.

Dog Grooming Courses - Program Tuition

A career in the professional pet industry offers a unique opportunity to work with pets in a caring and compassionate environment while improving their health and happiness.

The dog grooming courses can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis and on a flexible schedule with open enrollment year-round.
We offer different payment options that make tuition costs manageable. Military spouses may be eligible for tuition assistance.

Certified professional dog groomers have many employment opportunities and the American Grooming Academy is there to assist graduates with placement or with advice on establishing your own salon or mobile grooming business.
