February is the month for LOVE, and here at the American Grooming Academy campus in sunny Temecula California we are all about that four letter word!

Many of our students have caught a bite from the LOVE bug. This particular bug is from the Pet styling world! many of our students come to AGA wanting a new career, something different, but more often than not the catch the Grooming LOVE bug! One such student is the beautiful and intelligent Sara Otero.

Sara come to AGA after 20 years of sitting behind a computer. Day in and day out. Working administrative, slamming keys down from the time she started until the time she clocked out. Wanting something new, exciting and creative, Sara decided that her love of animals should guide her on her life change. She wanted to express the creativeness that she had always had that her former career would not allow.

In her research of the Temecula area, and pet related industry, Sara came upon the AGA website. after making a call and filling out a Quick Application on line for more information, Sara was contacted by Instructor and Potential Student Recruiter Kat. After a lengthy conversation, Sara was set up with our Potential Student Tour of the campus. She was able to speak to students, see her full kit and listen to a lecture. After her visit Sara decide that AGA was right for her!

Understanding that AGA, a California State Licensed School with the BPPE, was going to be no walk in the park, Sara studied hard and learned quickly. She admits that “Bathing techniques were the easiest.” However learning how to handle and maintain her tools properly was the most difficult. For her career Sara would like to continue to learn under a Master Groomer, advancing her technical and real world experience, putting to the test the lessons she acquired at AGA. Eventually she would love to have a home based Pet Styling business. Her favorite breed is not a breed at all it’s actually a group. sara loves all the dogs in the Toy Group! She “has a thing for the lap dogs!”

We asked Sara what she would tell a friend about her experience at American Grooming Academy, “Being a student at American Grooming Academy, I would explain that AGA follows through with everything they describe in their curriculum, hands on training, lectures/videos, state certified, and friendly caring staff. I had a good experience handling the pets, using grooming tools, interacting with other students and instructors.”
