May Academy Newstory

Loving Our Amazing Vendors!

south barks 1.jpgAt American Grooming Academy pet grooming school in Temecula, we have many different teaching styles and methods for our students to be educated with the best possible information while they attend the academy. One of our favorite things is vendor lectures and field trips! The month of May is dedicated to those amazing vendors, who know that our graduates are their future as well as our own, and who strive to teach our students all that they can!

American Grooming Academy has some amazing vendors, but the top of our list is South Bark’s Dog Wash in San Diego Ca. Owned and operated by Donna Walker and Lisa Vella, South Barks is the home of the World Famous Blueberry Facial. American Grooming Academy former instructor Kat met with South Bark’s Professional Sales & Marketing associate Alynn Silliman four years ago, and it was love at first sight!

Blueberry Facial sight that is! Ever since that fateful day, the Blueberry Facial has been a staple of the AGA monthly spa packages, as well as a retail product in our lobby. Recently Donna and Alynn have been coming to the academy to educate our students. Every other month Donna and Alynn make the trip from sunny San Diego, to give lectures on such topics as: Common Skin Diseases, Sanitation, Skin and Coat. They build power points and engage with our students on a level that builds respect and future buyers of South Bark products! Many of our graduate’s businesses including: Cutie Pie’s Grooming Salon in Redlands Ca, Barkley’s Grooming Salon in Rancho Bernardo Ca, and Bailey’s Groom Service in Santa Cruz Ca, all use the South Bark products! American Grooming Academy is very proud to carry, use and validate the South Bark’s products and we love our visits from, “the South Barks Girls.”

Commonly known as WAGS, American Grooming Academy students have a special relationship with this ware-house……all student kits come from WAGS. Built to be the best, WAGS and American Grooming Academy put together a student kit that gives our students the best possible advantage. With top of the line shears and blades as well as the number one clipper from Andis, our students get the best possible equipment for the best outcome. WAGS also invited American Grooming Academy students to tour the brand new warehouse this year. They also provided American Grooming Academy students with a representative from Andis, who lectured on equipment safety and care. WAGS is a company which American Grooming Academy can count on any day of the week, our students learn to understand working relationships that branch the pet care industry, making them more successful and knowledgeable business owners!

California Dog University is a top notch service dog, rescue dog, and pet training facility owned and operated by Cindy Chassen, more commonly know to AGA students as “The Doggie Lama.” Cindy has been training dogs for over 10 years, and her students are some of the best the working dog world has to offer. Cindy as well as her other trainers, come to American Grooming Academy to lecture on canine psychology and behavior. Our students also take field trips to California Dog University location to see, first hand, how a training facility works and operates. This gives our students the advantage of understanding the canine psychology before they begin careers whose primary field requires responding to pets. California Dog University has helped make American Grooming Academy students better at reading and interpreting dog psychology, not only strengthening our students knowledge but their love for animals.
